Book Review | A Place to Hang the Moon by Kate Albus. 5 ⭐️'s. Middle Grade and up This book was staring at me from the shelf at our local library & I decided to pick it up. I am so glad that I did! It only took me a few days to read & I've already purchased a copy for our home library. William, Edmund & Anna lost their parents when they were very young & then their not so loving grandmother when they were a little older. This leaves them without a guardian, so they join the evacuation from London during WWII in the hopes of finding a new family. The children end up staying with a few different families & it's a struggle for them at each place. But in the midst of the sadness & instability, they take refuge at the local library & find a friend in Mrs. Muller, the amazing librarian who always seems to know just what the children need, whether it's books, a snack or just a cozy place to read. I loved the relationship between the siblings. They do such a great job of caring for each other. I also loved the references to other books within this story, many of which are my own favorites. It reminded me of the stories are light theme from The Tale of Despereaux. And while it does have sadness & hard times, it's such a heartwarming story that I think anyone would enjoy it. I highly recommend this one & I think it would make a great read aloud.
