I've seen this book criticized for not having much action, but I was not disappointed.
Rose marries a young French businessman in an attempt to protect her family. She does like Rene, but she does not love him. This book follows their courtship and the first year of the couple's marriage. It's a short book, and it's definitely one that I would recommend to one of my nieces.
