Burn For You Author: Bridie Charles ARC Review: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐/5 Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️.5 Tropes: - Enemies to Lovers - Forced Proximity - Slow Burn - Found Family - Chef × Bar Tender - He falls first - Grumpy × Sunshine - Age Gap - Small Town Romance Burn For You is the second book in The Ruby Cove standalone series. This book is about May Whitley, who moved from New York to Ruby Cove months ago with her best friend and Rafael Deo, who happens to be the grumpy, loner chef. When May's cottage catches fire she has no place to live so begrudgingly she moves in with Rafael Deo, whom she despises since their very first encounter no matter how hot she thinks he might be. Forced to live together, things between sure get steamy between them. The book is fairly medium paced, with few open door scenes and beautiful moments of found family and friendships. Oh and did I mention many swoon worthy Rafael moments? The book also skims through the topics of unstable relationship with parents, grieving and loss of family members. The imagery in the book is really beautiful and the portrayal of multi layered characters is amazing. Reading about Rafael is like watching the flower bloom as his personality comes out and May, she might come off as Spitfire which she is, it makes me want to give her a hug. There were some instances where she did frustrate me a bit but overall the book is amazing. So if you love a good small town enemies to lovers age gap romance, get this book!
