3.5 stars. An extremely well written & researched biography of Catherine the Great. I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st half of the book, but had trouble getting through the second half with all the politics. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in Catherine the Great. This is such an informative read. Thanks to Goodreads & Random House for the beautiful ARC. I prefer it to the hardcover copy that I came across at Target.
