The main character's choices in the end don't jibe with what's gone before, and the author beats us over the head with the conclusion we're supposed to draw. I'm giving this three stars instead of two for the parts of the book that are narrated by a precocious pre/teenager, who is not insulting or preachy, and for the delightful Miss Felicity Hardwater. ...more ...
