I had put off reading [b:First Among Sequels|27002|First Among Sequels (Thursday Next, #5)|Jasper Fforde|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1243968943s/27002.jpg|948585] because I had grown a little tired of the writing style. The beginning of the book is basically "A Day in the Older Life of Thursday Next," and aside from events/details that you know will effect the overall plot of the book, it didn't accomplish much more than that. (Thursday goes to her Mom's and gets some hidden money for an illegal cheese deal, then she goes to Acme carpets meets Felix8 again and locks herself in her office so that she can jump into book world and train Thursday5, her book self...) And that first day is probably the first half of the book. The really interesting part of the book has to do with Thursday's children.... And I'm excited to read the next book because of one the facets of of the family unit. Basically, the mystery style of the writing isn't my cup of tea, but Fforde is so witty, and the world is so creative that I can't help myself but to enjoy the series.
