It seems that I enjoyed this volume more than most of the other reviewers.

My hopes were fairly low going in, but it was a lot of fun ‘80s campiness!

The two annuals were objectively the highlights, especially getting a few mini stories from John Byrne & Alan Moore.

Kilowog is one of my favorite characters, so reading a story so soon after his first appearance was interesting!

I have a two complaints.

The small one: I really prefer GL stories off earth, and this one was about 90% earth stories.

The big one: the romance arcs were terrible.

The Russian storyline was far better than I feared, but it still wasn’t a great GL arc at all.

It also made me want to finally read Crisis on Infinite Earths, since there was so much fallout from it in this book.
