Let's Pretend This Never Happened reminded me of this book, which I also did not like: [b:The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance: A Memoir|6523058|The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance A Memoir|Elna Baker|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1388337953s/6523058.jpg|2661475]
How to review this book, how to review this book.
Well, I should start by saying that I didn't finish the book. I just couldn't. I only made it to chapter 5.
So why didn't I make it very far? The biggest reason would be that I've reached my lifetime quota for listening to people tell me about their terrible childhood. I have compassion for someone who is working through difficulties from their childhood, but if I wanted to listen to someone showboast about it, I've got several people I could call. And I care about them.
And ultimately, Let's Pretend This Never Happened could have used a stricter editor. There were so many paranthetical statements even before chapter 1 began that I almost didn't make it through the intro.
