I've been in a book slump for months, I have DNF'd 3 books in a row - the Centennial pulled me out of it!!! The magic system, the politics, the world building was perfect for me. It was the perfect amount without putting me to sleep. Team Grim & i don't see that changing but we shall see. Other people claim that they saw the plot twist coming but i did not 😂🫣 Can't wait to continue Isla's story in Nightbane! Read this if you love 🫀 high stakes fantasy 🫀a King with secrets 🫀unique magic system 🫀trials/competitions

It was a 2.5⭐️. But what do I expect it’s a tale that I’ve heard over and over. I predicted the end. Quick read. A good palate cleanser. There were flaws in the writing but you will get past it.
