So I am probably always going to be a bit biased about this book, but here's the gist:
*This series was my first foray into fantasy, so it is close to my heart.
*In this third book, the sexism starts to wane away. The first two, yes, I cringed a bit at the condescension, particularly towards the Alorn queens.
*This series does not do the 'series' thing where nothing happens and yet you're expected to read another book. Magician's Gambit ends with what could have been the end of the series, but Eddings ups the ante.
I mean, I am probably biased, but I know that these books are at least somewhat respected in most circles. So yes, I recommend them.
