I have learned that this is not the series to take a break to read some comic books. I had such a hard time remember side characters.

But despite that, this book was. Massive improvement from the first entry, which I already enjoyed quite a bit.

For a longer book, it never dragged. I was invested in our main storyline with Calen. But even more than that, I loved Ella’s POV, and Dayne’s, and Rist’s, & Dann’s.

I really should be taking notes to keep everyone straight though.

The last 100 pages made my jaw drop multiple times, but that very last line absolutely rocked me. I never expected that!

I’ve heard from nearly every reader of this series that book 3 is the best one, so I left a half star here. I’m going to be back in this world very soon!
