Kelly Thompson writes Captain Marvel the best and adds layers to her character that no real previous comic I've read has. There is also tons of action as you see Carol battle the avengers one by one. This book has a plot that is ripe for an event comic with 50 tie-in books, but Thompson expertly keeps the story in the confines of just this series, which shows massive restraint on Marvel's editorial to not drag this out as a cash grab
