𝘼𝙍𝘾 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚: 🌶🌶🌶🔥 𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙠: Playing By The Rules. 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧: Monica Murphy. 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙩𝙚: March 30th, 2023. I fell in love with Monica Murphy's writing ever since I have read A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime. Her writing style is so effortless and easy to paint an image in one's head. Reading her books is like watching a movie in my head. The book starts with Blair's contemplation of pursuing her long-time crush on her brother's best friend, Camden Fields. Unknowst to her, Camden feels the same but chose not to get involved with her but Blair was her brother's sister, and boy was she relentless. The chase, the brewing chemistry only seems to grow with time and I absolutely loved it! Blair was sweet, understanding, and like I already said, relentless too. She pursued Camden, acknowledging her feelings. She was patient and understanding. What I loved about her character was how headstrong she was throughout the course of the book. She knew what she wanted and was determined to have it. Camden Fields, star Quarterback, seems to be an arrogant god at first glance. But as you go through the story you'll get to see him open up like a rosebud. Slowly his layers would peel away and you'd see how his character was shaped. With a somewhat messy past, he was closed off and had the persona of an arrogant playboy. It was also refreshing to see a Mental health rep for males, not many books talk about this. The moments between Camden and Blair were a mix of cute and steamy. Monia Murphy sure knows how to build sizzling hot chemistry between her characters. The level of chemistry between them was *chef's kiss* perfect. I absolutely loved the times when Blair would tease him to teach him a lesson 🤭🤭 The secondary characters didn't have much impact on the story but I loved Ace and Ruby, can't wait to read about these two! This book explores: - Sports Romance, - Brother's Best Friend, - Secret Romance, - Friends with Benefits, - Men's Mental Health Rep, - Slow Burn (kind of), - Alpha Hero, - She falls first, - Happily Ever After. if you love a book with these elements, then you don't wanna miss it!!
