Speeding into Overdrive Author: Kanitha P ARC Review: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐/5 Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️.5 Tropes: - Sports Romance - F1 Driver × Representer - Secret Pining - Always been Her - Brother's Best friend - Mental health rep - No Third Act Break-up - Grumpy × Sunshine - Forced Proximity Speeding into Overdrive is by far one of the best F1 romances I have ever read. It is a sweetest, medium paced & slow burn love story with lots of funny banter, cute moments and amazing friendships. The book also depicts the main characters' personal mental health struggles skimming through the topics of anxiety, abandonment and emotional/physical abuse by a parent. Miles Huxley is a 3 times world champion, a legend in making who is also obsessed with his best friend's little sister Indigo Bailey. He hides himself behind cold ruthless F1 driver persona, often dubbed as villain or The Lion of paddock. Indigo Bailey is an embodiment of sunshine. Always bringing light with her cheerful persona wherever she goes whether it be on paddock or outside it. Aspiring F1 reporter when moved into her brother's best friend's home temporarily couldn't resist her childhood crush and finds herself falling for him. Kanitha P. did a great job in portraying multi layered characters, making them relatable in way which calls to you as a reader, connecting them to you. She sure as a way with words because she had me hooked right from the start. If that's not enough, the imagery was truly something else. It made me feel like I was living inside the book. If you're an f1 enthusiast, trust me you'll feel like you're watching the race in your head. If that's not enough, add some steamy open door scenes, you have a perfect book. I'm soo glad I got to read this book bc I'm in love with it. Quite possibly it's one of my favorite books now! If you love an amazing sports romance with mutual secret pining & amazing friendships, save the date bc this book is coming out on 15th Feb!
