The Angel Experiment is quite good, and very entertaining. Max is a character that is easy to like, the humor isn't too stressed, and the novelty of kids with wings is interesting.
Also, this particular book has good direction; right away there is a clear goal that needs to be accomplished, and while later in the book the kids just fly around New York for a while, the beginning really helps to hold the rest together.
I recommend this book.
