I haven't review this book yet? I've read it three times, and I'm not much of a re-reader. Well, this is the story of Juliet Ashton, who is coming out of WWII feeling battered but hopeful. The book is written in the form of letters to and from various characters, which adds to its charm. Pros: *Dawsy, one of the main characters, is one of those useful people who is hard to dislike. *Kit is a believable child, so strange and morbid. *Juliet has the power of writing such "charming little notes" and is in posession of a "sunny disposition." Okay, she actually rants about both of these phrases, and is known for throwing items when she is angry. *Guernsey really does sound like such a nice place to be. Cons: *Mark Reynolds. Why does she call him charming? Ever? *The book ends abruptly, and the reader feels empty and like she'll never be happy again. (It's a happy ending, but I like more flesh at the end of a story.) I recommend this book over and over because it is the happiest sad book I've yet read.
