The Pogo Step-Mother Goose

Traditional Mother Goose stories bent raffishly by Walt Kelly, using his Pogo characters as actors in these mid=20th century parodies of the originals, --often with a political twist and sometimes a bittersweet aftertaste. I enjoyed this book as a child simplistically, and now in middle age with political awareness of the racial and cold-war tensions which haunted post-war America.
