This book will fit snuggly into the #4 spot in my Cosmere rankings. I wasn’t aware how much I needed a fantasy Mad Max story! It was a pretty slow start, but once it took off, it really took off! The Stormlight adjacent aspects had my internally squealing & I’m more than ready to see the effects of this book in Stormlight 5 next year! The side characters weren’t anything genre-breaking, but I was genuinely rooting for them. The villain, however, was interesting in that his goal was pretty cliché, but his skillset did not match it. It made for such a satisfying ending in most ways. And the unsatisfying parts were exactly what they were meant to be. Easy five stars!
