Wow, three stars!
I love dystopias, and Uglies had that feel, even before you learn the really hideous fact about the Pretties that changes Tally's mind. This book really has a neat feel with hover boards, jump jackets, and 'Ugly tricks'. I enjoyed reading this book, and I would quickly recommend it.
The downsides:
The ending was a little stupid. I won't ruin it, but it's quite anti-climatic.
Finally, I dislike it when authors push the next book in the series on you by ending a book with a cliff-hanger, and this book was no exception to the rule.
