Firstly, thanks to the author for presenting me with the opportunity of reading this uh-mazing book!
My reviews could be biased bc I'm an indian and seeing a desi (brown FMC) made my heart dance in glee but hey it really is a great book, easily became my comfort book now and also works as a great palette cleaner for those who are in mood reading something cute, fluffy & sweet romance.
Yours Unexpectedly is a slow paced, slow burn, college romance with lots of witty banter, lots and lots of disgustingly sweet (in a good way) moments and amazing friendships.
[TW: The book also mentions panic attack, claustrophobia, the loss of parent and battling of cancer of a parent.]
Anya Mehra is an Indian student who moved to Pinecrest University in New York for her masters. She is a reserved, shy, caring, and protective towards her people. Unexpectedly bumping into an overly good looking and obnoxious Daniel Grayson, who happens to be the captain of university's basketball team has her in twists & she is determined to keep her heart safe.
Daniel Grayson is a sunshine in human form. Always smiling, helping people and putting others before himself.
So when he bumps into mysterious Anya Mehra, he wants to be selfish for once and have her all to himself.
Daniel is obsessed with her and when I say obsessed I mean OBSESSED with a capitol O. He is so in love with her argh you just can't not melt with everything he does for Anya. God, men in love are my fav genre of men! But that doesn't mean Anya is any less, she is insanely protective of him and is willingly to do anything to protect him from any harm, even if it means standing up against his father. You can see her love fiercely shining through!
I cannot stress enough on how much I loved this book. Anya and Daniel's first interaction had me hooked from the very start. You can feel the connection between these two characters flowing through the words, whether it be the simmering chemistry or the emotional connection. It's just there and I loved that. It made me feel closer to the characters. There were instances where I had goosebumps while reading one of their sweet moments and their open door steamy scenes.
So if you're looking for a comfort romance book with slow burn & college sports romance. GET THIS BOOK!
