I’m surprised this book has received so many 4 star reviews. I genuinely don’t understand the hype. I kept waiting for the story to get better, but it never did. I considered stopping halfway through, but decided to finish it because I wanted to see how it ended. Unfortunately, the ending felt predictable, with only one moment that genuinely caught me off guard. I also found the main character frustrating and difficult to connect with. The overall tone and messaging weren’t for me and came across as having strong feminist themes that pulled me out of the story.
