While the majority of this story is about Joseph the Bellmaker (father to our heroine, Mariel, that we met earlier in the series. My favorite part in this book might be the story of Blaggut. We've seen it previous Redwall books, vermin try to be good but reveal that they were lying but for the first time this book has a vermin that wants to be good and it just goes to show no matter how we look, how we're raised and what we may have done in the past, we can always change our ways.
