Kaya ran away after killing her best friend. When she's brought back she's expects to be judged for that but things are not as they were when she left and she isn't happy with the changes. She needs people she can trust if shes gonna do anything but that's hard when everyone seems to be hiding something.
This was such a roller-coaster, it took me a week to finish the last 100pgs because I knew 𝕤𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 was coming and wanted to prepare my emotions. I was not expecting that ending though. I'm promptly getting book 2, A Familiar Betrayal, because I need to know wtf happens.
