Even more so when the sequel was one not originally planned by the author while writing the first book. So upon starting Dear Justyce, Nic Stone’s follow-up to her staggering novel Dear Martin, I really appreciated that the dedication she included not only thanked the boys that inspired the continuation of Quan’s story, but doubled as an explainer to why she decided to write this book in the end.
