While this book is fiction, it definitely carried the feel of an autobiography, and I loved it for that.

𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚛𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠 • 𝙳𝚊𝚒𝚜𝚢 𝙹𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚂𝚒𝚡 ✨ ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 This sadly did not live up to the hype for me 🥺 I decided to listen to the audiobook because I've heard some people enjoyed it more than the book due to the full cast of characters narrating the story. LIES. Guys these were the worst characters I have had read about in a long time. They were insufferable. The only one that didn't drive me nuts was Camila. I will say Daisy did show some character development towards the end thankfully. I realize they weren't supposed to be likeable but forewarning if you're a big character reader you might not like this book. It was really hard for me to connect to the story and I honestly couldn't wait for it to be over.. There was no actual plot??? I was waiting for something worthwhile to happen but nada.. EDDIE WAS SO ANNOYING EVERY TIME HE TALKED I ACTIVELY DIED A LITTLE INSIDE. (Insert Eye roll) And the actress who voiced Daisy was super breathy and weird so if that's a pet peeve of yours don't listen to the audio book. Okay I'm done being mean here were some positives.. 1. I loved the story of how the band got together and how Daisy joined. I was invested in the actual band so that kept me from DNFing. 2. They discussed really important topics. Addiction, abuse, sexism in the music industry. 3. There were some amazing quotes about music and art in general. And relationships. I also enjoyed listening to them write the songs and come up with lyrics. I'm huge on song lyrics (fellow swiftie here) so that aspect just speaks to me. "She had written something that felt like I could have written it, except I knew I couldn't have. I wouldn't have come up with something like that. Which is what we all want from art, isn’t it? When someone pins down something that feels like it lives inside us? Takes a piece of your heart out and shows it to you? It’s like they are introducing you to a part of yourself." "It is what I have always loved about music. Not the sounds or the crowds or the good times as much as the words -- the emotions, the stories, the truth -- that you can let flow right out of your mouth. Music can dig, you know? It can take a shovel to your chest and just start digging until you hit something."

Well executed writing from different POV, even down to shared memories with different experiences among the people involved. I’ve never read a book interview style and it took a little to get their voice’s separated into mental pictures, I’m glad I audiobooked this one. It really does feel like this could be an actual band IRL, but that’s the beauty of books it is real in their world. Bonus getting to hear a song from their world.
