This was crazy AF. The fact that is isn’t fiction is astounding. If you want a glimpse into one persons perspective of living in a very abusive and toxic family that is in Mormonism read this book stat. I’m surprised that many more people were dead or even more maimed from the horrific accidents.

I’m still thinking about this book years later. My only negative input is that she may have written this too soon. If she had waited a few years it might have mellowed a bit.

When I tell people I'm homeschooled most times just they nod, once I had someone ask if I meant homeschooled like Westover and I had no idea what they were talking about. Reading this book now I can say definitely not. This is an extreme version of homeschooling and while I know someone who experienced an similar version I can honestly say it's not what I experienced. This was a rather interesting read contrasting it to my own experiences and makes me thankful for the parents and childhood I had.
