Rather enjoying my first read of this classic and I completely get why so many people were so fascinated with th8s series when it first came out.

[SPOILER] THIS BOOK AHHHHH. Spoiler alert! I never look forward to this one when I'm doing a reread of the series because I know it's going to be a punch to the gut. A big shift happens in HP & The Order of Phoenix. We start to see the harsh truths about life and how sometimes you really are on your own, kid. I feel so deeply sorry for Harry in this book. He is left in the dark and a l o n e. Like always. Harry is constantly the one who has to sacrifice his own happiness for the betterment of others. HE DESERVES SO MUCH MORE. This installment really shows that adults aren’t always the heroes. They make mistakes and sometimes life isn’t fair. Harry realizes the people he has looked up to since he was 12 aren’t perfect. Dumbledore tries to do the right thing and it ends up being the wrong thing, he finds out his dad and his uncle were bullies. The school is put in the hands of a woman who thrives on violence and control and there is nothing Dumbledore can do about it.. Umbridge is a garbage human being We see the students' education being hindered, and their rights are slowly and surely chipped away. The hopelessness the students feel is palpable. And then finally, they form Dumbledore’s Army to learn defense against the dark arts (one of my FAVVV things that happens in the whole series). Harry is a talented teacher. The students start to feel hopeful and less scared. Ginny comes into her own character - she sasses her siblings and Harry every chance she gets and I LOVE IT. We get to meet Luna and her idiosyncrasies. Hermione, Ron, and Neville continue to prove how loyal they are to Harry. And it is wonderful seeing Neville step into some bravery and confidence. In the end the school comes together to rebel against their controlling Inquisitor. The ending is truly awful and I hate the way Sirius is killed and Harry is yet again, an orphan. Sirius never truly got to live as a free man and it breaks my heart. Overall even though this book delves into the deeper, darker side of the wizarding world it teaches important lessons and it will always be a five star read for me. [/SPOILER]
