Originally I was not going to read this. I read Kubica's Local Woman Missing and was very disappointed. I think I rated it 2 stars and swore off the author. So when this book came out I had no interest until a friend with similar reading tastes recommended it to me and said it was better than Local Woman Missing I said I would give it a try and just dnf if it didn't catch my interest. Well I finished it and actually enjoyed it. Courtney's drive to figure out what happened and her suspicions of everyone were so understandable. The wonder of what happened to Reese? Kept me focused figuring out what was going on. The twist? So well done. The second twist? Unexpected. The narrators also did a fabulous job bringing the characters to life and I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook.

5⭐️ And I just gotta say WOW. This is one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a while. It starts out at a cabin on the lake at a little retreat center. Things take a pretty terrible turn and Reese, the teenage daughter ends up missing as Courtney, her aunt tries to find out what happened to her. I don’t want to spoil anything, and I think this is one it’s best to go into blind. Just prepare for nonstop twists, high emotional stakes, and to never know who you can trust. Thank you NetGalley, Harper Collins, & HTPBooks for this ARC! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
