I was disappointed in this. The premise and idea behind the book sounded fantastic. I did really enjoy the ending of the book which is why its getting 2 stars and not 1. What disappointed me was how shallow all the characters and story was. It felt written to fulfill stereotypes and representation rather than as characters. I couldn't grow to actually care about the characters because they had no real depth. The story itself felt like it wasn't fully fleshed out and has so many random disconnected scenes that could've been given more. If this was YA the story depth would have possibly worked but per Netgalley this is in General Adult and it just doesn't have the depth for an adult read imo. *ARC review* Thank you PoisonedPenPress and Netgally for this advanced copy
