Dan Haldane might be my favorite character in this book. A police officer on loan from another district that just so happens to be handed a murder case before he goes back to his district goes above and beyond for a mother and daughter he just met.
The ending was absolutely perfect in my opinion as while it was a happy ending (horror books usually don't get happy endings), it was a happy enough ending with justice coming to the right people. Fully enjoyed this book.
