This kinda gave me Nancy Drew vibes in the way its written and mystery itself. So if you enjoyed her books you might enjoy this.
I did have a little issue with all the side plots and the fact that even though the book is titled The Most Mysterious Bookshop in Paris, we don't actually spend a lot of time in the bookshop. The bookshop was such a side focus that it kinda annoyed me that they titled it that. There was so many side plots as well that at times felt distracting. I, after finishing the book, found out its part of a series and so I understand wanting to keep readers interested in the next book but some were just distracting.
There was an entire chapter about essentially a hate crime that felt so forced it was frustrating. I don't have issue with it being part of the book but the way it was done didn't make a ton of sense to me.
Otherwise if you want a book that doesn't require a lot of brain power and is just an enjoyable mystery then Hugo and the crew are an interesting bunch of characters.
