This is a quick read if your just looking for a short horror story. Its not the best story in my opinion as there is no clear reason behind the ritual or who is requiring them to do the ritual and while the story of the ritual is referenced several times as having been told to the town as children they never tell you what that story is... maybe all of this is explained in the next book as I did not realize this was the first book in a series but it just felt like there was a lot of missing info
