I saw "encountered a mummified corpse" on the back of the book and somehow got the idea that this was a supernatural thriller along the lines of The Mummy movie. Imagine my surprise when it was actually more of an archeological Indiana Jones type situation. It was the only book I brought on a long road trip, so I did finish it. It was definitely well written for what it was, but just not my cup of tea.
