A fantastic book I think many young adults would enjoy and honestly should read.
I'm really enjoying this publishing trend of taking history that is so terrible and not talked about and writing books that examine it, teach it, and why we are not responsible for our parents/grandparents choices but we can do better.
I did struggle a little bit with this book with some of the... I guess pov changes? After Hazel goes to the Farm and starts seeing another girl in the mirror some of the pov changes weren't clear and left me confused on what was going on, what timeline we were on and such.
If you enjoy this mix of modern with history as a thriller/horror book I also would recommend The Reformatory by Tananarive Due, and Camp Lanier by Sylvester Barzey (Camp Lanier is YA)
