So I was initially looking forward to this book because my belief as a Christian is we are called to show love to everyone despite differences in opinions, circumstances, lifestyles, etc. As this book went on though I felt more and more disappointed because while yes, it has a good message and these people who wrote these stories and essays are doing good work, it ultimately felt like the overall message was that white Christians are racist and we just need to shut up and accept we are racist. There was no real how we can love others despite our differences but just a lot of this is how white Christianity is terrible and the good we, the authors, personally have done in the face of that terribleness. Needless to say, I was greatly disappointed and barely finished.
